Ever since I got my motor rebuilt, my radiator in, and my car back from the impound, the car hasn't been the same.

I'm boosting around 10+ psi, but I still get beat by stock cars such as ITR's, S2000's, CL's, etc. What gives???

First of all, I don't have standalone, but my A/F and my EGT's are good. I have 440's, and an AFC. I tried using the missing link first, then yesterday I tried the AFC hack at 10psi. It feels like there's more power, but it goes into limp mode so easily.

I'm losing to almost every car there. There has to be something wrong. I'm not leaking boost, the I don't seem to be running out of fuel according to my EGT's.

Yea why 10psi I thought your sig was putting 18 psi before could this be why? I beat a stock ITR at the track all day but of course his best time was a 15.1, my worst was 14.9 :D I dunno man....

 

Are you sure you have good compression?

Well, right now just to test things out, I'm running around 10-12psi. Still, I should be able to beat most cars out there...especially the ones that are beating me right now.

Yah, the motor just got rebuilt and the compression numbers are great.

i was having a similiar problem, turned out my wg was leaking. try checking your connector pipes/hoses, maybe one got loose from the engine rocking,etc....

 

Howz your timing look? Sounds like it could be overly retarded, and robbing you of some power.

 

Your exhaust isn't helping you any. The WS is baffled, not straight through. And I doubt your fuel is set-up "properly."

I know the WS exhaust isn't perfect for turbo, but it shouldn't be robbing me of that much power. The fuel setup is what I'm thinking the problem is, but how come the A/F and the EGT numbers are so good? I'm not running too lean or too rich.

I would check my timing, but I don't have a light. I believe it's at 16degrees from when the motor was put together, I forgot.

Is that okay? 16 degrees with the AFC hack?

 

AFC hack throws ALOT of timing in when in boost, if you do a search you can find the post of datalogs proving this, so stock timing is REALLY not a good idea for everyday driving especially on 10psi.... could EASILY cause detonation, I would do a compression test, leak down if you can.... and find someone with a wideband you can borrow or use to be sure your mixture is right, check plugs all the usual stuff.

My timing is at about 13-14deg right now at 8psi with AFC hack.

i had the same problem. all gauges looked good and i was making boost, but i was slow. car felt like it was actually dropping power when boost hit. i had to take the car to a shop(last resort thing) they took it for a 5 min test drive, messed with the WG(im not sure what they did) and i was killin again. said something about the WG leaking pressure. good luck

I looked at pics of his distributer and where its setup, looks to me like its at or around 12deg give or take a degree, I'm at 13-14deg myself and my car is still strong.... dunno but we're gonna meet up and I'll take a look at it, you should be hauling way more *** then me being stick with super clutch and 2 more lbs of boost then me

With my built motor, I should be hitting near 400 horses, and now I can't even get away with running ~10psi right. Sucks to get beat by a stock ITR.

Oh, and to answer the question, my car was in the impound for only 2 days. I doubt anything happened to it, it wasn't driveable with the things I did to it before I let the tow truck take it away.

And about the 4spd are you talking to me or shamoo? He's manual he did a auto-manual swap a while back... I myself am still 4spd auto but just bought a ls tranny and am looking for all the other parts needed for the swap and will be doing that next (if not wideband o2 first).
