V6 Accord sedan noob... lots of questions!
Just got a 2001 Honda Accord V6 sedan as my 2nd car.
Got a few questions...
1. The headlights are very hazy... can somebody point me to a DIY on how to clean them up?
2. What aftermarket white headlight bulbs do you guys recommend? No, I cant afford PIAA.
3. What aftermarket short ram do you guys recommend? Also, go with the K&N filter or something else?
4. I was thinking of doing a full fluid flush, including tranny fluid. Anything to avoid here? Any recommendations?
Thanks!

wet sand the headlights with 1500 grit and either hand or machine buff them with rubbing compound. don't get suckered into buying a "Headlight restoration kit". waste of money. buy a job pack of 1500 and some compound.
don't flush the trans. only change the fluid. if the car has high mileage, changing the fluid (if it has never been changed) could ruin the trans. if it has over 150k and has never been changed, you may want to suck some out from the fill hole and do this several times with a couple mionths in between, but don't just drain and fill all at once with a high mileage trans that has never had the fluid changed.

honestly, that gen v6 accord had a lot of trans problems. you may just want to vacuum a little out from the fill hole and refill with new fluid. full fluid change may not be the best idea. put a few drops of the fluid onto a white paper towel using the dipstick. if it's dark or dirty, go ahead and change a little fluid at a time. you could do this with the drain plug plug, but it's messy trying to stop the flow after a quart or so has come out. if it's clean, leave it alone for now.
#2: Sylvania Silverstar Ultras have always been good to me. Keep in mind they will only last a year or two depending on your driving (price you pay for much brighter lights) but they are a definite improvement.
#3: Just get some ebay piping and a K&N filter for it (DO NOT use an ebay filter!) and you'll be just fine for much less money than a "name brand" one. Plus you can customize the piping however you want.

i used to have the silverstar lights, and dont get me wrong there awesome, but i went with an hid conversion kit from ebay for the same price $50 shipped 2 year warrenty, and there amazing, you wont want to go back after you drive with them
oh and i agree with the trans thing, you got to be real careful, because older trans, all that metal in the fluid is basically acting as grip for the clutches inside, but as far as other fluids, you wouldnt have any issue, change your brake fluid, nobody does, but it makes a difference, and if u do a coolant flush, use factory coolant, at least i do, and it might not be a bad idea to throw a new thermostat in it as preventative maint

i ended up getting some cheap Nokya Magnum Cosmic White bulbs for my beater accord.
I use Sylvania Silverstars also. Plus I changed out the front turn signals with Silverstars, they have a bluish, orangeish color until they flash. I did a fluid flush on my transmission using Royal Purple fluid. It probably wouldn't hurt to flush the brake fluid and power steering fluid either.
From my experience, I know very few people who have had any luck with ebay HID's (and most of these were from "reputable" sellers/manufacturers).
And something to consider for those who may be looking at the Nokya bulbs, they run over the wattage rating of your stock harness. Now, I haven't heard of any horror stories of these bulbs burning a car to the ground, but it's something to keep in mind.
I recommend you do another flush to get that RP fluid out and go with at least Honda fluids.
Although you might think differently because of RP's marketing, Royal Purple is not a good match for Honda transmissions.
