get yourself a decent set of tokico blues, skunk 2 or kyb agx until you can afford the good stuff...i believe the only konis that you could get for close to $300 would be the str.t.

don't go with tokico blue you might as well stay with stock ones.. I know ya moneys tight but kyb agx 4 way adjustable are well worth it i just put them all the way around on mine and got rid of the tokico blues which started leaking about 4 months from having them.. when I installed my new kyb agxs I installed 4 ground control top hats.. I have h&r springs all the way around which are pretty stiff but the new agxs made it right 100 times better

I've had/have 4 different sets of Tokicos and they have been just fine for street/auto-x.

The first set of whites was on my 85 CRX and later swapped into my 86 Civic. I used that set for 6 years and 120K. When one started leaking, I called them and they replaced them.

The replacement set was on the car for another 3yrs, I still have them in my parents shed somewhere.

My third set of whites has been on my Civic for 10yrs with no problems.

The fourth set of blues was on the 91 CRX I bought. The original owner put them on in 98.

True. Might as well wait till you got the money for the right stuff. Koni's are the best tho. I had them on my 96 EK for 4 years and then now on my crx. Been through total loss accident and 2 vehicles now and then still work the same as the day I bought them. Also the nice thing about them is you can remove the brake line bracket and stuff them farther in the fork to get more travel.

Thanks for the input. I have waited almost six months now, just feels like my car is resting on springs. It his everything so hard it cant be good for it. I'm looking at function and long term economy over having the smoothest or coolest thing I can get. I also need new wheel bearings, just been putting stuff off for too long but not having a car at all makes working even harder ha ha! Maybe I can look for somethong used. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to get ripped off buying something lower end, so now I know what to look for. is resting on springs and it hits everything so hard it can't beat good for it right? That's why I wanted to try and find something being Its my only cae.

could also be your steering rack in need of being rebuilt, and other bushings in the suspension that need attention, as to why your suspension feels like crap.

I know I need to look at the steering rack, just don't know what I'm looking for and i don't have money to start guessing at what needs replaced. i know the shocks are bad, they are completely dead. The steering wheel shakes at any speed getting worse as I go faster, and occasionally for no reason even on flat road, the car will drift left or right just all of a sudden and I have to correct for it.

I've replaced tie rods inner and outer, the axles and lower ball joints. Not sure where to go from here other than putting my money into what I know needs done.

I apreciate any input though! Hopefully i can figure it out before it causes any more damage.

look up steering rack END bushing in the faq.

its a $15 part and you should have replaced it with the inner tie rod. would have been the same amount of labor.

Really? Dang, I wish I would have known that before I went and changed them out. The inners were a pain with how tight it is around them. I will certainly try and get new bushings then, that's probably due for a change and it's pretty affordable. Thanks.

Yeah hoping to find someone local to Nashville. Not much for a Honda scene here though unless I'm just not seeing it. So far I've seen a lot of good feedback on the Konis.
