just to clarify.. the brake and clutch hydraulic system both use brake fluid.. but for the tranny case itself you use gear oil. preferably honda MTF

 

oh ok makes so much more sense now!!...so the clutch fluid is dot 3 right? and the transmission fluid you use honda mtl....How often do i need to replace this fluid??

 

Acura recommends you change the tranny fluid at no more than 15K. Even though I don't drive my Integra everyday or hard, I change mine every 10K to keep it tiiite.

 

wow... you need to get a host that long.... I saw the dealer using a suction pump, so I just went and bought one. I could never find a furnel that is long enough.

like others have already pointed out... clutch and brake systems both use brake fluid.. the actual transmission/gear box I use honda MTF...

as for the funnel w/ a hose.. you can make one.. just go to home depot and buy some flexible clear vinyl tubing (2' or so should be fine) to whatever diameter fits the bottom of your funnel.. you might also want to buy a hose clamp (its like $1 or so) to clamp the vinyl hose securely to the funnel just so it doesn't "accidentally" slip off the hose and cause a big mess.... the hose should be like $0.50/foot max .. and the hose clamp should be like $1 or less...

I bought a pump at the store for about $4 that pumps straight from the bottle... at the end of the pump is a clear vinyl hose thats about 2 or 3 feet long.. either would do the job..
