Icon2 Crankshaft question..

A friend recently bought a ls crank for his ls/v-t that has been shaved and balanced.

Heres a pic of the shaved ls crank next to a stock ls crank.

Can anyone explain the pros and cons to doing this?

This is the first crankshaft i have ever seen modded like this..

Just weighed the crankshafts.. stock ls crank 34lbs and the shaved and balanced crank 30lbs.

I am still debating on using this modded crank in my boosted LS/Vtec.

I was hoping to get some advice and/or info on this..?

yea i had my crank polished and weighed but shaved may cause problems if the balance is slightly off and it makes it weaker plus less momentum cuz off less rotating weight at top end so crappy cruising at high speeds and crappy shifts up hills lol with staged clutches no traction
