How do you know if your spark plugs and wires are BAD?
I got a new set of Magnacore wires and Denso Iridium plugs about 10,000 miles ago. How do I know if they are bad and I need to change them for some new ones?
look into the plug and check out the contacts. If they are discolored and corroded then change 'em. if not they're cool. as for mileage not sure when they should be changed. But your trusty manual should have that info.
iridium plugs will last very long and spark plug wires can't go bad after 10,000 miles, maybe after 100,000 miles they will be bad...if you think your plugs are bad you can always take them out and inspect them but iridium plugs are top of the line plugs...good luck
hell, i have some of the bosch split fire plugs in mine and it runs great....had to replace the densos because they were crapping out on me at about 70k miles.
Hmm.. Let me see.. Spark plug wires.. How do you know if the wires are bad?. Simple.. Do an "OHM CHECK". Each wire should have less than 25,000 ohms of resistance.. If there's more, replace it.. But it's up to you, I would.. As for the plugs, it should have a just slight brownish complexion to them. If there's anything other than the normal brown and brand new look, change them. Here's what I'm doing.. Everytime I do an oil change, I check the wires and replace the plugs. So I'm looking at about 20bucks max for an oil change and minor tune up and preventive maintenance.. Think about it..
