Default Is This Motor a B18c-R ?

I recently purchased what was supposed to be a 96 Spec JDM B18C- R. I am positive the head is an ITR, but the back of the block is stamped p72 (1-1) and the engine code is B18C. After scrubbing the whole engine down so I could read all the codes I noticed that this block may be a JDM GsR. If someone could help me identify this I would appreciate it.

That is correct in being a Type R. GSR and ITR blocks are both stamped P72 on the back. Why make a different stamp/casting when they are the exact same block just different internals.

yep, pistons should be P73. Glad to see someone in Buffalo actually doing something the right way. You guys need all the help you can get for the import scene up there lol.

Yeah I noticed that also lol. Do you ever run at Lancaster? The only decent Honda out there running is the red EK hatch with a B18C5 swap, slicks, and if you inspect it theres a bottle behind the drivers seat :p Theres also that boosted S2K but I think the driver must suck from the power numbers he is pushing or says he is pushing.

which is why it's a repost. people either know the facts or they don't you had all sorts of people giving you opinions that were downright untrue. the smart move you made was calling hmotors and asking since you were unable to tell who was right and who wasn't, this of course means the post wasn't necessary what so ever.
