Default Viper 5002 Remote not responding when alarm goes off.

hey guys. i installed a viper 5002 two way in my del sol and remote was working fine when i would make the car go off ie kick the front wheel or unlock the door when car is armed. About a week later the remote stop telling me when my alarm is going off. what do you guys think?

do i need a new remote? or a new alarm?

btw the alarm is a refurbished unit but everything works 100% except two way paging when its suppose to.

Ouch dam refurb, I would check the remote program and make sure you did not turn off the page notification in the remote programming. Its in your user manual for details. I cant remmeber off the top of my head.

one easy way to tell is stare at the remote, in the top left corner there is a little antenna. if it blinks, page mode is on, if it doesn't blink it's off. i think you need to enter programming mode by holding the P button on the back of the remote until one long beep is heard from the remote. after the beep push the lock button and then let the remote time out of programming mode, another long beep or 2 will be heard. then check the little antenna icon again.

okay i got it to flash! HORAY!!! and i was about to buy a new remote haha.
here it is from the manual:

Page notification

The remote control can be programmed to notify
the user of a
page (audibly beeping if the vehicle’s status changes, e.g. door
unlocked, engine started, vehicle violation, etc.). On the LCD
remote press Siren (orange button) to select page On/Off. One beep is page On,
Two beeps is page Off. When programmed off the remote will not
give any notification that a page was received from the vehicle.
Note: If programmed Off, no alarms will be notified to the
remote. Command information (armed/disarmed) will be notified
to the remote.

dang, i was off by one button, HAHA. i think i was thinking about the remote on my old 791xv. glad you got it working man. double check the Beep/Viprate programming option was changed by the lock button and make sure you return it to original programming, or which ever option you prefer of the 4 available.
