USDM vs JDM crx doors
i know the jdm doors dont have a side impact bar in them so there lighter, the door is the same only wiring is different if u have power windows and such but u have a hf so judt get some jdm doors with window cranks and ull be good
wrong. JDM doors are the same as 1988 CRX (all trim models) and 1989 HF models. JDM doors do not have door mounted seat belts. 1989 DX, SI and 1990-91 HF, DX and SI models all have door mounted seat belts.
non-door mounted seat belts are shorter (about an inch)
door mounted seat belt doors are longer than JDM doors.

jdm crx doors usually come with power window/panel which is different for seat belt. and usdm doors usually dont come with power window/panel. they wont bolt up ur EF hatchback. crx only
I have had a few sets of jdm CRX doors
The doors themselves are the same as the usdm models with the exception of the internal side bars, making lighter, but not as safe as mentioned earlier in this thread. Yes, the jdm power options and door panels are different, but those can be easily swap out for usdm parts....or modified to be used. Lucky for us up in Canada, the doors are all the same in all years, and we never got door mounted seat belts.
So really, the advantages of using a jdm door shell are:
- lighter
- often don't have rust
- extra power options suck as power windows and mirrors can be wired in interested in them

I think the safey benefit is minimal. Usually the US government safety requirements that are built into the the US cars are a joke anyway. I doubt that it makes any real difference.
So it would be easier just to buy the wiring and power window motor, door panels, and switches and all that and convert my US doors? Because really I just want power windows. But a set im looking at for 400 come with the door, side mirrors, wiring, switches and door panels. So should i just convert a usdm door or buy the jdm door? Any opinions welcomed.
