So I just picked up a '96 Civic CX-G Hatch. Only problem I've had so far is the dome light. It worked great when I picked up the car, went to my local parts store to pick up an LED bulb for it. Counterperson and Sylvania book both state that my car take a DE3022 bulb for my domelight. So I bought the bulb, brought it out to the car, and lo and behold, wrong bulb.

It's a peanut bulb. Can't tell which one though. No markings on the bulb, and there are so many bulbs that look identical to it (168, 194, etc).

Brought the LED back in the store and returned it, decided to try the bulb I had originally pulled out and save the LED for another time. Except when I put it back in this time, it didn't work. So I went back to the store and bought a 168 and 194 bulb. Neither worked.

My questions are as follows:

Any idea what my ACTUAL bulb number is?

Any idea what could be wrong with my domelight? Fuse maybe? Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

Is 7.5A hood fuse 43 blown? With the door open, does the Wht/Red wire in the ceiling light receptacle have voltage to body ground?

 

i had the same problem in my eg, try following the wire leads, might be the problem. i never did fix mine

 

Sylvania only lists the DE3021 and DE3022 bulbs for '96-'00 Civic dome lights.

Thing is, the DE3021 isn't used and both numbers are festoon bulbs anyway (the ones with a contact at each end).

The DE3022 is for the EX/Si (the cars with moonroofs).

The cars not equipped with a moonroof use a 194.

 

Sorry man, checking the wires for voltage is something I'm not familiar with. But I will check the fuse under the hood. Good to know. I'm just a broke student looking to make my car a better daily. I wish I had the time to learn. Thanks
