Im not familiar with what shops are around down in south florida. The alarm is the last place you wanna cut corners with though. Make sure you get a well known brand, and whoever does the install, see what kind of warranty there is. With this kind of stuff, you get what you pay for... If there is some shop offering some kind of crazy deal and it seems too good to be true, it prob isnt true, lol. Cheap alarms can cause major headaches. A reputable shop and reputable alarm should offer a lifetime warranty. The alarms brain should have a lifetime warranty, and the shop should warranty their work for life...

clifford and viper are manufactured by the same company, DEI. Its all good stuff, lifetime warranties.. The clfford G5 is actually a full model line, there are 4 different g5 models available, but its pretty nice. Just make sure you find a nice place to get the work done at, and call them first, bc some places wont give you a warranty on their work if you didn't buy the alarm from them...

the clifford g5 has been discontinued for many years, when DEI bought clifford.

Bestbuy... lol... Look, that really depends on what store you go to. They have 1000 plus stores out there, and to have the best installers available in that many locations can be quite difficult. Some stores, you could find a cpl high school kids with hardly any experience just waiting with excitement to tear into your car with sharp metal pick tools, and a huge lack of knowledge. You could go to another store, and find a cpl installers with decades of experience that are among the most knowledgeable techs out there.

Bottom line though, Bestbuy carries viper, and warranty their work for life. (they have great insurance incase they f' sumthin up too, lol!) So, yeah, bestbuy isn't a bad place to get your work done.

Youll regret it later on, my friend had them install his alarm and it was complete trash. Everything is just twisted and taped togher. Reminds me of my old alarm also, i was told it was a "quality" install.

I like my clifford 3.3x, although i kind of wish i stepped up to the one with the screen. I think the 50.7 or something.

Install was done by cartoys, next time ill do it myslef. Taking it to a big name store isnt always a good idea. Little mom and pop shops sometimes are the best. Without you being happy, they could possibly go out of business. Cartoys/bestbuy make money everywhere, and dont mind some unhappy customers.

But what joey said about insurance is very true, however it may be hard to get any money from them, they told my friend nicely to go **** him self. They said install was proper and noithing was wrong. I buy things from them, but ill cut my arms off before they ever touch my car.

If you are planning on installing the alarm yourself, I would opt to get an Avital 3300L. That's what I have in my coupe.

I would buy a quality alarm and install it yourself. Civics are one of the easiest cars to do. It would be a learning experience. It's how it all began for me!
