problem with coolant temperature guage and sensor
ok so i had a 1994 boosted gsr set up, and at this time my gauge worked.., Well unfortunately i dropped a valve and swapped it to a ls because it was all my broke *** could afford.. Its currently all stock, All my harness is plugged in correctly. also running p75 ecu no check engine lights and there are no other problems. just for some reason my temp gauge will not work ever since the ls transition. help pleaseee!
its all plugged in i went over it four times before coming on here.. its just dumbfounding, the only thing i didnt do is check the resistance of the sensor itself. i have high doubts that the clusters bad because it was perfectly fine before the swap.
I checked all of the resistance, there are no broken wires but for some reason I'm not getting voltage to the clip that plugs in to the back of my guage cluster. I get voltage to the actual clip that plugs into the senser though. What are my options now?
Okay so i just put a ls in my teggy, and what im getting at is afterwards my temp needle hasnt moved since.. If there is air in my coolant lines can it cause it to not move? and another thing i tested the resistance in my sending unit sensor, fine, got voltage to it n all. but whenever the keys on and such i get no voltage to the clip that gos to the gauge cluster.idkkkk help!
i dont understand what u are saying but u saying that u get voltage when your car off but when your car on (running or not running?) u dont get voltage. and which sending unit sensor are u talking about IAT OR CTS or which one

you don't test voltage on a sending unit. test resistance at the sender and see that it is within specification. probably gonna have to warm the car up first
