Icon3 switching to manual rack subframe question

I am switching my 98 honda civic DX hatchback to a manual rack. I have looking on here and couldnt figure out why people are switching out sub frames. I have seen post where people ar using the del sol subframe. Any suggestions???

the eg sub frame had a taller bend(thats what i call it) the the ek frame so u get a lil more room. i usually only see it in the k swaped ek other than that it is pretty point less.

ok good. cause i didnt know if i was gonna have to change it im my EK hatch when i go to manual rack

You swap subframes when going to a manual rack because the holes that the bracket bolts to are in a different spot on power and manual subframes, also make sure you get the lower universal joint for the steering column with your manual rack, those are different too.

I did the manual rack with the power sub frame just used the brackets from the power rack on the manual one had no problems

The subframes are the same no need to swap, I just put power steering in my 96 which came with manual, it'll bolt up without any mods
