Default Car Alarm Chirp..

Just wondering if anyone knows what brand makes that famous arm/disarm chirp that you see in movies all the time.. I just hate the way the Viper/Clifford/Alpine alarms sound when you trigger them...

can you elaborate on what the chirp you want sounds like? or list some movies? I haven't noticed what alarms sound like in movies..

the sound I like is factory BMW and Lexus security systems..(and some other manufacturers) where its just high pitched beeps.. instead of alarm electronic chirps like on most alarms...

for BMW.. I thnk Alpine makes their security systems..

now sure what "chirp" noise your taking about.. describe it in more detail..

theres always silent arming.. I usually just let it autoarm (no chirps)..

The "chirp" mainly depends on the the actual SIREN you are using. Most alarms just "pulse" the siren for chirps. Some pulse it slowly, some quickly, some use a neg. siren trigger, some positive.

Some SIRENS are an actual LOUD speaker and the tones are generated by the "brain".

For instance, in the movie FAST & FURIOUS, when DOM parks his RX7 and arms his alarm, the pulses were quick and in pairs to arm. The sound reminded me of CODE Alarms Sirens. And the Code Alarms used to ARM with 2 Chirps, Disarm with one.

Funny how his parking lights didnt flash. I bet the RX7 used for the movie didnt have an alarm at all, but the director just added that AUDIO in when they recorded the movie.

Hey, of course Im gonna notice something like that when I install mobile electronics for a living.

Thats like a doctor noticing something wrong when he watches "E.R."

By the way, Ive only watched F+F twice when it was at the theatre, and maybe 5 times on DVD

The Toyota truck factory alarms have a beeper under the hood. Simple two wire hook up. Probably pretty cheap.

Yeah, I noticed that on some Camry's Ive put remote start in. I like the unobtrusive beeping the Toyota Factory alarms have.

Alot better than cars using the Loud horn to beep.

Hey, Kwhitelaw, where do you install? I remember reading some of your posts awhile back.
