Default Big tube header?

I have a 96 hatch (ek4) with a b16a2 intake, cam gears (skunk), 2 1/4" piping to an 07' so muffler and want to upgrade my header. Question is what are the benefits of a big tube header over a regular header, guy down the street has a big tube for sale and want to know if it improve my performance or kill it. Any and all help is appreciated thanks guys

nope. small tubes. i had a b16a that made 187whp. It had a Jg ported head skunk2 stage 2 cams stock b16 bottom end with p30 pistons decked and milled to 11.7 comp. i ran the Jg big tube header(hytech) and it was lazy going into vtec(5500) and it pulled supe hard at 7k. get a better(smaller) header it wont sacrifice midrange on such a small motor. Especiall your build where its very mild.

yea I agree, stick with a smaller tube header. Big tubes only work well in a highly built NA applications where the engine needs the extra flow.

What cat are you going to use. If ure going to use a stock cat. It will not fit on the 2.5 inch collector with the donut gasket. I had to redo my hole b pipe because of the cat not fitting the small tube headers.
