they are really upset about it over there it seems. cant take the import beating domestics... from what they are saying seemed like no ones fault especially runnning autostart, but they have to blame someone.

both cars were prestaged, track official stepped into millers beam triggering the tree to drop. vette ran all out 8.466 @ 155, miller never moved further than prestage.

track official came over and appologized to miller in person and you could tell it was a genuine accident. official saw something dripping on the track from millers car and stepped in front of miller to let him know but accidentally stepped into the beam. (liquid was just overflow)

once BOTH cars are prestaged the official is NOT supposed to step in front of them for ANY reason and Jason Miller was very quick to call a re-run and straighten everything out.

vette supposedly hurt his motor after setting it on "kill" for that pass but agreed to re-run. miller won fair and square.

yeah he was upset but calmed down afterwards while getting the car ready to run and ended up shaking the officials hand when he came over to appologize.

not sure if either car was hurt on second run but the track definately went away while waiting for the re-run without any cars going down it.

and Congrats to Miller on the win, i didnt have the chance to stick around afterwards cause it was a cold bitch lol

yeah i thought miller was gonna kill that official when he got out the car! but then i talked to miller after he cooled down before the re run and he was 100% focused which got him the win! im really glad that they got to race for the final instead of what happened the first try. absolutely the best end to wwIII ever!

well if this was true miller should of been dq'ed! the starter stoped him for liqued dripping. enough said no reason for a rerun or anything else.

The starter knew he ****ed up......if they didn't re run the cars.....there would have been a riot. Seriously! By far the best final round I've seen. It was soooooo quiet waiting for the win light to come on. I had no idea who was gonna win. The car back halfs so sick its hard to tell who's gonna whos gonna turn the light on

That's what I was thinking but you know there would have been a bunch of excuses on both sides no matter who won, import or domestic.

After reading the whole story on this forum and a few others, Miller probably should have been DQ'd. He DID leak fluid coming out of the burnout box so the starter made the right call IMO.

If that was the case it should have been stopped before both cars were staged. That could have ended getting someone run over.

Sounds like the starter needs some remedial training. When I was running my pass they let my opponant pre stage and stage while the man was still mopping up in front of me. I would have had to hit him to trigger the pre stage lights. I ended up treeing him but lost on a breakout 12.93 on a 13.0 dial in. Sucks to be me.

Lol, that's the problem. I wasnt leaking anything. Someone told the starter they thought I might have been leaking something but there was nothing leaking.

It ended up being some jerkoff standing at the line who wasn't supposed to be there. My car was checked for leaks and never left the starting line area other then back a little to get out of the way.

At the en of the day the started apologized and Jason miller did what was the right call. The guy in the vette, was a very stand up guy and ended up being cool a he'll with the whole situation.

screw that you made the right call Jason.

didnt Jay say he saw the official trigger the tree but he left anyway...

sure i would have left too but if he knows miller never even staged than he should have known the whole way down the track it would have been run back

The track was silent for like 10-15 mins when all that crap went down. We were freezing in the stands and it was like 11:30pm and about 35-40 degrees not including the wind chill factor. It looked like there was 100 ppl in stands and if it wasnt a rerun it would of been a crazy site. When Miller reeled in the Vette on the top end ppl were jumping in the stands. This was my first WCF and even though it was extremely cold it will not be the last. Maybe the best event of the year. 2 thumbs up to Jason Miller and the rest of MIR for making it happen

haha...there are some very angry keyboard gangsters on YB. Miller (chris) bet you didn't know your car was a one run time bomb (taken from your finals opponent who was apparently on kill mode when he left the first time and hurt it)

Default Re: Question About a Re-Run of a Final at MIR

True, but I think MIR should have made the other car make an all out pass also before the re-run to even things up.

Those imports are one run time bombs and he hurt it when we finally raced.

I said tough we were staged and it was a race. Jason said no it wasn't a race and he needed a winner. I told him my car was on kill, overheated and pushed a little water. No dice, I was under the impression if I didn't re-run I would gave the win away.

I guess there's a sucker born everyday.

what he doesnt realize is if he was the one left sitting in the prestage beam while miller went down the track it would have been a different story...

and it doesnt matter if a car is dripping something or not, once both are prestaged they are going down the track and you dont get in front of either car at that point. so for you guys saying miller should have been dqed you are wrong even if he was dripping water

not to mention the fact that this isnt an nhra track and we are talking about WCF here....i dont think anyone would have been happy not running it back again except for Jay's nutswingers maybe
