Weren't you going to install an AG4? I personally think it's the only 2-way pager worth considering. Depends on how long you want to wait, my local retailer said two weeks til he gets them in stock. If you have any specific questions I can probably answer them.
how much is this thing?
should I dump the crimestopper pager that i have now (waiting to be installed) and get this?
is this one worth its value?
will it work with my AG4?
i just need the pager, im currently in the process of installing the AG4 right now.

don't you already have an AG4? from the looks of things from the pic you posted on the DEI.. I don't think its a stand alone paging system.. it has the lock and unlock buttons.. and also if you look at the screen it has "start" "arm/disarm" and other things.. I think its a complete alarm system.... not just a stand alone paging system so I don't think it can be adapted to your AG4...
the Crimestopper unit from everyone I've heard is a very good unit.. since you already have an AG4 and already installed it (I remember your post about installin it 2-3 months ago).. I'd stick w/ the CS unit and put it in...

It is a dedicated alarm/remote start. I believe suggested retail will be $599 installed. Only has hookups for automatic transmission. This display will not work with another company's alarm. Clifford will have their own version also, the RS3 I believe. These are due to be released in a few weeks.
I think Circuit City is charging $499 installed, so figure $100 more than the 550ESP. I know dealer cost is $70 over the 550ESP. Won't work on the AG4, the pager is integrated into the alarm brain.
the 550 or 554 model (with the 2 way pager) will be reased on the DEI, Clifford, Viper, Python lines... all the same except diferent logo on the alarm/pager.. I'm looking forward to it

Yeah! I saw this new alarm in the latest Sport Compact Car. I was considering on upgrading my current dei 500 esp. It sucks ***, i need more sensors (mercury tilt, motion, etc.) It hardly goes on too. The paging option will be a very nice touch in fighting those teg thieves. What model is this DEI alarm and is it really gonna cost 500? The 500esp has been in my car for almost a year (got it for 200 installed) should i revamp the whole system?
Thanks
Thanks
Be carefull with these - don't want to get jumped in the process of saving your ride
. Alpine used to have this , reaches up to 1 mile if you have a good antena.
does this auto start with a 5 speed ???

Hahaha, "SHORT CUT CITY"....I never heard that one before!!!!!
I knew first hand what it was like there......I used to install there years ago. QUANTITY over QUALITY......and I hated that the Salesman in the store did not do their job when they set-up the job. The sales people must have good knowledge of the product and knowledge about the particular car its going into. There has to be good communication between the installers and sales guys.
A customer expected to pay only $35 bucks to get keyless entry in his 4 door sedan, because that's what the salesman told him it would cost. Heck!!! His car had no POWER DOOR LOCK actuators in the first place. AND he would need to use a BYPASS module for remote start.
Of course, the salesman failed to cover this with the customer and his particular vehicle.
This is exactly why I went on my own. I play the role as the salesman, the informant, the estimator, the installer, and the person who gives a demostration of the system to the customer when Im done. Sure, its more work for me, but I know then that all bases have been covered and the customer leaves HAPPY!!!
