1990 Civic DX: Wont Start, cranks but doesnt well... start HELP!
Hey guys.
This car is my beater, and has always given me issues since I bought it like 4 years ago. It had this issue for a while. I thought it was the starter, so I had that replaced like a year and some change ago.
It worked fine for a couple of months.... and then it started having the same issues it had before I replaced the starter. So then I thought since it isnt 'catching' when cranking it, maybe it was the distributor, mainly the cap and rotor. I had a guy change that out for me.... and it had issues still regardless.
Now, what do you guys think it could be? It also in the past had issues not starting when it rained, or the air was full of moisture.
But I let the car sit for like a month and a half, and now it just wont start period. I crank it for like 5-10 minutes.... and nothing.
I in the past had it not turn over like this for same amounts of time.... but sooner or later it would turn on. I've tried this for like 4 days now, and it doesnt want to start, period.
Here is a video too that I took with my cellphone to give you guys a visual of what is actually going on.
Audio is kinda of low, so turn up your speakers lol

Refresh my memory, is that the check engine light in the lower left corner of the indicator lights? If it is, it doesn't appear to shut off. Can you confirm whether or not it shuts off when you first put the key to the on position without cranking it? It should only stay on for a second or two.
Pull the spark plug out and see if it's sparking while someone else cranks.
If it does, then check for fuel. If there is, check your timing, if it's right, check your compression.

Start with the basics. When you turn the key to the on position do you hear the fuel pump? Does the check engine light come on and then go off? You don't hear fuel check the main efi relay, then fuel pump, and finally the ecu.
Check for spark. DO you get spark? If no, check the ignition switch, ignition coil, and distributor internals (such as ignitor e.t.c.)
If you get neither take a look at the main efi relay located under the driverside dash. Also swap out the ecu with another ecu.
In the case that you get both spark and fuel, check the timing of the motor. (As in the cam gear with the crank pulley)
These should be your first initial checks.

Fuel pump primes, no CELs. I am pretty sure that it doesnt have anything to do with the plugs, as that, and the cables are all pretty new.
Can anyone else give insight if it could be the coil? I have a feeling it might be that.....

Seeing if the plug sparks isn't just going to test if the plugs are good, it'll test if the distributor is sending spark to them.
Do you have a friend with a D that you can swap with to see if that solves the problem?

I'll see what I can do.... but I dont have friends with D's anymore. All my friends moved on and dont mess with cars anymore lol.
