Dash harness question!

I am installing a stereo, and I came across a red wire with a black stripe on it coming through the stereo harness. What is this wire? Illumination? Or is it something I can tap into for the ash tray light?

IIRC its switched power. time to bust out the test light.

the red with black wire is the illumination wire. it dims the head unit when the running lights are switched on. it should also be the same wire for the ashtray light. so yes you can tap into it.
