accord axle on type SH transmission???
will a 1990 accord axle fit on a 97 prelude type SH transmission? i'm replacing my axle and the new accord one i bought isnt sliding all the way in, im not sure if i have to force it in or what. do i need to buy the prelude axle, if it fits the accord? any help would be appreciated.
try to smake it in wile turning the axle a little left to right right to left then check to feel the gap in between the axle and tranny caseing there should be no gap
yea i kinda wiggled it in and it slid in pretty easily, then stopped with like an inch gap i can still see the inner part of the axle sticking out of the tranny. i guess what my question is, is if the accord axle will work on the prelude tranny if i force it in, or do i have to have the prelude axle.
I did a h22 tranny in my accord the auto tranny with lsd and I used my stock accord axles like I said take and smack that bitccc in haha make sure you have the axles staight and have the nut kinda threaded on a little
it seems like its short...i fit in through the brakes and got the caliper on to the ball joint, but theres still a gap between the tranny and axle when its put together

You can use Accord axles and Prelude axles on H22A swapped accords with their transmissions.
Though if I'm not mistaken that SH transmission you have is different from normal Prelude ones and will not work... I think that's the one with ATTS

I'd suggest waiting for a confirmation before doing anything, but everything I've seen/read has stated the ATTS Prelude systems cannot be swapped over.
well its probably not the ATTS version, because this transmission has been in here for a while its been working, just the passenger axle broke and im replacing it. i just dont know what axle was used on the original swap because i didnt do it my self.
call who did do the swap and next time if it has a swap dont jump into it inless you can get info about wat parts that are not stock to the car and info about wat you need to order in this case track down who did the swap and then check in at cbutuner.com when thats back and up and runing
Both axles work, are you sure you have everything lined up correctly regarding the teeth? It does take a little bit of force to get it in there.
yea, i guess i was being a little soft putting it in, but i smacked it a couple times with a rubber hammer and it went in. but it turned out to actually be a little short! so i took my old axle in to o'reilly and they said it was the SH axle, so i ordered a new one. i'll find out tonight if that one works..haha
