As fcm said, good AND cheap rarely go together. After doing this for over a decade, you kindof become brand biased. Kenwood and Alpine tend to top my list. Im also a fan of Clarion stuff, but user interface on Clarion can get somewhat tricky sometimes. Don't be afraid to stop by your local stereo dealer and try some stuff out. Talk to the sales ppl and see what they can offer you...
