i have a question
ok this is a dumb one but i figured i would ask any ways becouse all cars are differant i was wondering with my 2000 lude when droping more then 1 gear for example going from like 4th or 5th from a 50 roll in to 2nd gear can i just let off the clutch real fast and slam on the gas? or do i have to leave the clutch in rev it up to about where the rpm's would go to when i let off the clutch then let off so that away its a smoother down shift the reason i ask is becouse i use to have a built 1st gen neon and if i tooke it from like a 50 roll and put it in 2nd and just let off the clutch real fast and gave it gas it would mess up my timeing belt tensioner

ideally...an experienced driver will downshift and press the gas at the same time having the revs up where they need to be when the clutch engages... That way there is minimal (if even possible) strain on the car/transmission.
ok lol and thats how i do it from learning from my mistakes but a friend told me "bro its a honda its made to be abused just side step the clutch" i have never owned a honda so i was just wondering
dude meaning that you have press in the clutch and press the gas at the same time when doing that going to the rpm that is necessary you have to start letting go of the clutch with out feeling a big bog it needs to be smooth

if you rev match correctly, this will not happen in any car. find somebody that knows how to do it so that they can show you. hopefully, you won't mess your honda up, too.
nah man this was along time ago that it happend in my neon i learned the first time but my friend told me hondas where differant and i no jack about hondas so i figured i would research it i always rev match didnt no there was a name for it but thats what i do 2nd honk i rev match 3rd i let the clutch go thanks guys
yeah don't listen your friend. hondas are no different than any other car in regards to abuse. You may be able to get away with it for a while, but beat on any car and it'll come back to you at some point.
This is true, no car is "meant" to take abuse. Honda's are lucky in a lot of regards because they can take a lot, but treat it with respect and you can have a great car for a long time.
