Default car not running right in vtec - anyone help troubleshoot???

i have a question i was hoping someone can help answer for me. here is the problem. my car falls flat on its face in vtec. basically i can run at WOT and once it crosses about 5500rpm the car falls flat on its face. i checked the timing and i checked the cam gears and everything is fine. i have a FPR and have not yet checked that and i was also, for about 2-3 weeks prior to this happening, blowing out white smoke (it has stopped now). what can cause the car to do this??? could it be the distibutor cap and rotor, fuel, timing, ............??????? any input would help. i am also running kenji's P28 ecu and i have no check engine lights. the car runs fine out of vtec. no problems.

Have you checled ypur oil level yet. Whenever mine is low it falls on it's face in the upper rpm range also. The vtec soldnoid (sp?) might not be switching on either.

just fill it back up with thte right amount and then go for a normal drive, shut it off wait 5-10 then ck the oil and make sure its the same amount.
Also If you hear a strange noise while driving shut it down right there! and inspect

white smoke is coolant. bluish white smoke is oil. give more details on your engine before anyone can make a guess. mileage? age? you drive hard? more details

you should get you car checked

if you burn lots of oil regularly upon acceleration it is your rings. if you burn like 1 qt per oil change (ie 3000 miles) thats normal for honda's especially ITRs
