Default Bumper support/1G DSM drag car - pics

Started making bumper supports. It's not the finished product, but you get the idea. I should be done with it by this afternoon. Than it's off to the booth to get sprayed. I can't stand unpainted/unfinished metal work. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

Good job man, looks great. Ever thought of making the core support removable? I drilled my spot welds out and used nut-serts in place. 10 min at the track with a battery powered impact and the bay is open between rounds for clutch or trans probs.

Thanks guys!
Yeah,I thought about doing something removable. I will most likely do something like that in the spring. This was just to get the car driveable and to keep everything intact at high speeds. With a stock chassis 1G however, I can have the transaxle out, clutch disc replaced, and transaxle back in,in under 30minutes. So a little more accessability would be nice but not absolutely neccesary. We're talking about on the floor with a jack and some stands. No lift.

I take my car to my new shop in a few days but I can't weld indoors. So springtime I'll get started on a different setup.

I have some new plans for the car in the spring. I won't get into specifics but these are a few things that I will be doing to it:

*Dry sump oiling system
*Moran billet injectors (275lb to 500lb Not positive which ones yet)
*A few tweaks to the shortblock
*Bigger studs
*Bigger intercooler - possibly liquid
*Much larger turbo - http://himni-racing.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1845
*New 3.5" charge pipe from turbo to intercooler
*Haltech bezel/datalogger dash
*Pro-Charger blow off valve

Hopefully things will go a lot smoother now that I have a steady shop to work on it in. This year kinda' sucked because I had no garage of my own. Last year things went a whole lot faster having a steady place to store/work on the car.
I'll keep everyone updated as I start tearing it back down and parts start showing up on my doorstep. But not until I've atleast made a few passes on this setup.
