i got an 88 d series trans that i was told was from a 91. well i didnt think to check and ran into a prob when i go to install the trans. the trans isnt gonna fit the 91 clutch and flywheel i have obviously... ive heard talk of some upgrade disc that act makes? that allows use of the 90-91 pp and flywheel but has 21 splines to fit the 88 input shaft?

 

why not just get a 89-91 flywheel and clutch kit...!!!

 

already have a 91 clutch kit....and its goin in a d16a6 that im using to make my b swapped dx pass emissions. then im pulling it right back out, dont wanna spend 200 bucks if i dont have to

its the stock flywheel that came on the d16a6. so i assume 212mm. im reading that chart and are you saying i can use a disc from an 88 accord??

 

im not saying what you can or cant use so just go by what the chart says...!!!

 

hell its worth a try i guess. this engine came with a clutch that was new. like a month old. id only be driving it a few months then pulling it back out so i was gonna reuse the parts. ill have to look up that disc for an accord

as long as u have the correct size disc that meets the flywheel and slides on ur tranny u should be cool. cuz i know that the 88 trannys have different size clutches

 

you should buy the hybrid kit from clutchcityonline.com made specifically for ppl with 88 trannies and 90+ flywheel.

if you just need the disc, you can get it from them separately too. just contact them. they have great customer service.

 

i ordered the 88 accord lx-i clutch disc. 30 bucks from autozone.

 

just so you know, the accord disc is 8.25" or 210mm.

the disc clutchcityonline sells is 8 3/8" or 212mm. which is the proper size for a 90+ flywheel.

but i think youll be fine being a 1mm less at the edge.

 

where is that part located on the website...ive looked and see nothing specific

edit.: i found that disc. 88 upgrade disc by act. its like 89 bucks. should that smaller accord disc pose a prob? itll be here tuesday so i guess ill just compare it to what i have and if it looks iffy ill just order the act part
