coolant reservoir filling up..rad cap or headgasket?
long story short, D16Z6..stock everything except for 255pump, FPR, and 310CC's, 10psi on greddy 18G making 230whp. after spirited driving my coolant reservoir is pretty much full, could this be due to a faulty rad cap or a going headgakset? or both?
had the same problem with my bulit single cam. would fill up the overflow and spill out everywhere. ended up changing the headgasket and it was fine after that. but if you want to check you can leak down check it and see if the coolant over flows out of the rad. then you know its the headgasket. or you can try the cap first up to you. but i would lean toward the headgasket. let me know how it goes. buy a oem if you do get one. good luck
thanx man, i'm pretty sure i'm gonna go with a set of ARP's and a new gasket ultimately anyway. the car has like 140K on it and the HG was never done, now i'm pushing 10psi thru it like its all good ahaha.
most likely the head lifting. it happened to me on my single cam. sounds like you have a plan though, new hg and arp studs
ahh so lame dude, atleast the car will be down for the winter now and i can do whatever the heck it needs probably gonna yank the heater core and big *** blower box too this winter.
