brake/tire smoke smell?
Hey guys so was driving around for a while today and when I got home and parked I could smell smoke like title says. Brake pads look good and I had peeled a little 20 minutes earlier but yeah can't put my finger on what the problem is(car's in great shape no noises from brakes or any other clues to identify the reason for the smell).
Most likely not brakes/clutch that is a very distinct smell, you would know if your clutch was burning/hot. If you were hard on the engine during your drive the engine could just be running s little hot. Probably nothing to worry about. Any recent repairs/mods on the car?
Thanks for the fast response. Actually just picked the car up a couple days ago. No repairs pretty much stock besides the intake/exhaust. The whole car's clean through out and sounds great, thats why I was a bit surprised and looked around for an older truck to single out where the fumes where coming from LOL.
Probably nothing to worry about like I said. Cars run hot sometimes, its nothing out of the ordinary especially if you were having a little fun with your new whip.
Don't know where you live but with winter coming up it defintely helps your car out by letting it warm up adequately. Go out a couple mintues before you are about to leave out and start up your car. This will let your oil temp. get up to driving conditions before you head out. The engine will run smoothly while driving and both you and your motor will be happy.
Cool thanks for the help bro. Im in cali and its as hot as summer right now lol. My thoughts exactly with the cold starts, thats why I might be putting my compustar alarm to good use finally(gotta love that remote start/cold start option... sorry alternator
