Default GSR/ITR engine build

Hey whats up peeps first posting. Just picked up a super clean 98 gsr, kinda like a full circle for me since my first car was a mild build honda(6 cars ago lol). So was thinking of going for a 70/30 itr conversion on the motor. Its an idea i just thought of here in class to try anyway.

These are my thoughts: itr head(valves, springs, retainers, keepers, rocker arm assembly, cam caps, & bolts)$500...itr cams, gears, seals $300... maniflold, tb, fuel rail, fpr, injectors, and sensors $200.... itr headers(possibly) $300---prices off craigslist items

Now that i listed all the itr stuff lol, plan is to combine it all with my stock b18c1

Sooo thats the plan, let me know what you guys think. Was originally gonna just go skunk2 tuner cams, gears, and valvetrain for the gsr motor, but this seems like a smarter build for the same money. Oh, and ill put up pics of the car soon if you guys want. Peace

Why not just keep your gsr head (which is just fine), and add better valve springs, and a set of aftermarket cams....those two mods alone would make more power than a stock ITR engine

either sell your engine and buy a jdm itr motor complete or pull yours apart, install itr pistons and some cam with the jun3 profile, a single runner manifold, tune and go. there's no benefit to buying an itr head to replace your gsr head.

be warned some dick cheese will probably tell you to go to the hybrid section before long.

Will have to agree with other 2 guys. Spend the money on building the GSR head. can start with simply getting Blox or skunk2 manifold and 01 itr cams

itr cams are a great idea for max engine life. BUT, if you have to buy them. the blox c, or bumpstix will kill them in hp output. you have to tune and change springs anyway so you might as well take the extra 15hp or so the jun3 style cams will give you. the only reason you wouldn't is if you care more about longevity. those cams will wear guides faster and the extra rpm will kill the bottom end quicker. either cam really needs more compression which means changing pistons.

Ok, wasn't sure if the head would make that big a difference, besides maybe valvetrain being better quality over mine, or better placement for itr cams(if i went that way over aftermarket). How about the rest? Seems like $500 for cams, gears, maniflold, tb, fuel rail, injectors etc. would be worth it(but then again idk in reality the power differences in these over my gsr parts lol)... As opposed to just S2 cams for the same total price.

you don't need a fuel rail and don't need to move up in injectors till you push past 190whp. if you go itr cams your injectors are fine. if you go bumpstix 310s are probably smart

Yeah I don't really care about the fuel rail or injectors, that's just what their throwing in with the manifold and tb

^ Hope that didn't include me lol, but i think i might just go S2 cams and VT right now, just pricey. But if swapping for itr parts aren't even gonna do anything then thats an bigger waste of mula. Thanks guys
