Default Liberty Revisions

So i broke 3rd gear on my liberty....its the side with the face plate on it. I ordered it and today I received it just in time since im racing this weekend and next. Low and behold my 3rd gear has 9 lugs on it, and this one has 7! WTF.

Is this something where im going to have to buy 4th gear, and the slider to be able to get this going? Anyone have a "newer" box. I'm calling them first thing tomorrow so see if the rest is available for overnighting IF that is my only option. OUCH!!! Anybody?

Sounds like they just sent you parts to shut you up. Not good business IMO.

Sorry to hear Matt. Hopefully you get it fixed by this weekend.

the new ones have 7 lugs, but they have always asked me whether i have 7 or 9 when ordering gears. make sure to inspect your 3-4 slider very well too. might have some spider cracks on it and can become a weak point.

well ****, I HOPE they can get me a 9 lug one...i have a friends stock box in for this weekend just in case...with a diff...so i will be out there regardless but i have really grown to love my dog engagement. So are you saying (redboost10)that they still do the 9 lug? my slider is fine, ive looked everything up and down.

Its been a great set, the gears have about 55 sets estimated since new. This is the first problem. 24.5 and 800+

theres no other cracks or wear really on any of the dogs. even after a 121 shift.

well ive spoken to certain peoples, and it really just matters who you are and how you set your **** up...but with 26's and a billet case...you are going to get better results and it will hold up well.

well they apologized to me, and said they kinda assumed what i was using based on another tranny that i had some faceplate work done on, which stinks because now im stuck without a gear til next week unless the other guys i know of can get me one. ::Crossing my fingers::

They still support 9 lug for the foreseeable future, but let it be known, he said eventually they will fun out of 9 lug plates and only do 7 lug which means if you break a 9 lug 3rd, you'll have to convert 3 and 4th to 7 lug and buy the slider which combined is about 650-700$ Or you can send in the 4th and convert it to 7 lug which would be a lot cheaper most definitely by about 200$

heads up there.

Well....how many passes have you been at 800+ though dude? Just wanting to clear up that this box hasn't seen much at that power for that many passes.

Good luck getting it done in time Matt and in AL this weekend.

previous owner stated atleast 40 passes, running 700+ in their shop car. Me personally....15-20 passes at around 650-700

I was expecting something to break, but not on the dyno lol

lol we'll be bringing a stock backup this time around unless i dont get the gear

Stock face plated gears? If on stock gears does it make it last longer by face plating it?

A dynojet shouldn't kill trannies, should break loose before that happens.
