Default EG offset help...

Im lookin to get a set of wheels rebarreled and wanted to know what offset would be best for my 93 Si hatch. I want to give it a staggered look but nothing outrageous. I want it to be practical. Im definately goin with 15"s and was thinkin like 15" x 7" fronts and 15" x 8" rears maybe? I understand the calculation of offsets somewhat but im not sure whats best for my car. My hatch is lowered with adjustable coilovers so i know that has to come into play also. I would like help and opinions from anyone that has more knowledge than me on this subject. Thanks

Unless this is for a track-only car with 225/45-15 tires, don't get wheels wider than 15x7. You'll want to get 195/50-15 tires for your car, and they should only be mounted on wheels 7" wide or less.

If you're looking for really sticky street tires, the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, and Toyo Proxes R1R are all available in 195/50-15. They'll fit fine on 15x6, 15x6.5, or 15x7.

Thanks for the input "nsxtasy". No its not for track. I wanted to give it an agressive look but still be practical to drive. So if i wanted a staggered look i should go 15" x 6" front and 15" x 7" rear then?

Practical would be evenly sized wheels, to allow rotations.

Practical would also mean that should staggered sizes be used, the wider wheels go on the drive axle.

No that would be "politically correct". "Practical" = I want an agressive look but still be able to drive it when/where i want without it rubbing or scraping. Sort of a happy-medium.

There's no reason for a staggered look. Especially not with wider tires on the rear on a FWD car.
