timing belt on 1994 honda accord
doing a timing belt here at school and having the hardist time geting the harmonic balancer bolt off we have soaked it in PB blast and took impact to it but limited to 120 psi here at school we also put a block in cam pully to lock it all now the timing belt is slipping on the crank is there any other way to get this bolt off besides heating it up. thanks.
omg i had this same hellish problem had a 3/4 gun with a huge air compressore an it STILL wasnt coming off..... then my mechanic sed " head the **** out of the nut that holds the pully on but only the nut with PROPANE not oxy/acet... becuase theres rubber bushings in the pully u dont wanna melt... but i heated that nut for a min or two an it came right off with a half inch impact gun... i never even need the monster 3/4 gun....
i guess honda uses an insane lock-tite...but with a lil propane it spins right off..... did this for my girls T-belt 20k miles ago an everythings fine... so dont be afraid of the bushings melting...
there is no lock-tight on the bolt and don't use any when reinstalling.
If your air tools aren't getting it off then get the tool that holds the pulley in place while you break the bolt free. For info on this method see the timing belt how-to that's linked in the FAQ.

At school should have a car lift, buy the HONDA HARMONIC HOLDER crank pully holder, and use a big cheater bar, and it's easy as 123.

just keep hitting it with the gun it'll come off eventually they all do and i never use heat just air, go forward then reverse n repeat till it comes off.
Or use heat and to my knowledge there is no bushing in the harmonic balancer besides u'd be heating the nut anyways not the balancer
