10.6 on 1/8 mile...
i just got back from the track and my my best time was 10.6, i know my car has more potential its just me. The first time i ran i rev'ed at 4500 rpms and i got a good reaction, but my car bogged when i stoped peeling out. Then i rev'ed at 3000 rpms and thats when i got 10.6 cause my car didn't bogg down. i didn't even know what i did to get that time. my car is fast its just i can drive it right. Can you guys give me some tips???

Umm I'm not hating on your car because i used to have an ex but honda civic ex's even with your mods are not fast. Im trying to make it to the track eventually with my supercharged Prelude. I need to get the hondata tuned first though. If i were you i would try an engine swap instead of getting more mods it will cost a lot but will be well worth it. Step up to the DOHC's you won't be disappointed

Man I got a 85 Prelude I paid $200 for that runs 11.4s on the strip all night. But my car is mostly stock only removed the interior.
First thing to try. Tire Pressures. Front Tires Dont use some low profile stuff. You want a tire that is at least 75 series if running street tread. Drop the Front tire pressure down to about 20 pounds, might even try 15 pounds. Rear Tires I would First look at the max tire pressure for the tire, Most are 50-60 pounds. Push the pressure up to the tires max on the rear. This will put a little more pressure on the front of the car and help you launch.
Next I would try if you are manual trans. Rev to 3500-4000 on rpm and launch at that rpm. Use shift points for the following gears to the spot of your max hp rpm. I use 5500 for my prelude and it helped bring my times down.
Another point to ponder, while in the stage pit, before staging have the engine turned off as much as possible. Also run the cars Heater so it will help cool the eng temp down. Be sure you have the right mix of Coolant to water... Cooler engines seem to perform better.
I hope those 3 points helped you, try them out next time you run, and for gods sake take a 12v air pump to reinflate your tires for the ride home. I trailer my car so I dont have that problem. Be careful and have fun.
