They have a kit that allows the 5spd to bolt to the V8. Its been done several times before.

You know what crossed my mind recently...
I've been wondering if anybody has attempted to swap a modern engine (Example: 2GR-FSE) into one of these SC300/400 shells? I tried Google, but couldn't find anything.

Yes. Hence my desire for one. There was one listed on HT a few months ago that was really nice and would have been tempting for me had I not just bought my GTO.

I so wanted to pick up an sc300 5 speed when my civic was stolen, but almost 10 g's for an over 10 year old car was too much.

They retailed for over 40k when brand new. 10k is a deal for such a good looking, reliable rwd straight 6 car.

i'd say paying 6-7k for a 15 year old GSR that retailed around 23k is a poorer deal.

but eh, people will pay whatever price to get what they want

Such a shame that a 5 speed SC300 is so hard to find in good condition... let alone a 97+ one. I wanted one very badly, but couldn't find one in good enough shape or with decent mileage.
