starting problem..
got an 02 civic ex D17.. 152,000 miles. and i have a problem a starting problem lately.( just starting happening 2 days ago).. ok so got in the car and tried starting it and... cranking... cranking.... no start... so i turn the ignition off and on listening for the fuel pump.. didn't hear the fuel pump 1st time but the second time i thought i heard it kick on. and tried to start again.. nothing... so i turned the ignition off.. on.. off.. on.. like 4 times and BAMMM it fired... i know that by turnning it off on it is building presure... but was wounding if anybody has wad similar problems... i just thought my HONDA OEM fuel pump would last longer then 150,000 miles.
Just because you do not hear the fuel pump running does not mean it is no good. Could be a relay, harness, or immobilizer system fault preventing the fuel pump from performing.
