Many of you have read the problems with my camber kit.
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=278613 (original post)
I have started to fix it tonight which required replacing the halfshaft and ball joint but I took some better pictures of how the upper control arm smashes into the body. This is where the upper control arm is stuck in the body not allowing it to go down (only up).
This is the upper control arm after I pried it out.It must have been hitting it for awhile before it got stuck finally.
This is the wheel well after I pried the control arm out (it was really in there tight). Notice the control arm is hitting all the way up into the body.
This was the culprit that caused my wheel to come loose. This was stripped due to the extra stress of the control arm not being allowed to travel downward freely.
Which ultimately resulted in this:
Sorry for the long post. I just wanted to let everyone know if they hear a clunking noise when they go over bumps (and you have a camber kit), check to see if it's your upper control arm hitting the body. Then fix it before you have more problems.

here's an idea guys, don't "slam" your friggin' cars! lower to get them looking better than stock but still streetable. with just barely over a 1 inch drop i love the way my car looks AND i have a camber kit that does not hit. it did have that happen when i first installed it but then i put it on the lower correction setting and put new struts in which for some odd reason put my car up from 2.5 in below stock to 1.5 in below stock. alignment is within factory specs, speed bumps aren't that big of a deal, i can get in and out of just about any driveway and yet the car still handles like a vette. some of you guys are hurting your performance more than helping it just for the sake of appearances which IMO sux. not to mention look how expensive apearances can be

Who makes that camber kit? I saw the earlier post, but it says, "TD"...??? I would write a customer complaint and tell them their sh-t sucks. Are you getting a new knuckle assembly? Since you say it was stripped. Damm that sucks....

Which camber kit were you using? How much camber correction did you have?

As far as the correction I think it may have been about 2 degrees.

So did ur control arm ever touched the inside of ur fender? cuz mine did..i had 2 bang the crap outta my fender to make room for the control arm to move up and down.
hey whats up man, I know I dont have an accord, but I had the same prob on my crx. If you buy a camber kit that doesnt come with the arms, if you are really low, could hit on that inner fender flange. My car had no wheel gap, and then i put my camber kit on and i had a 2" wheel gap. The arm was bottomed out on that lip. I just got pissed and torched it out so the control arm can actualy swing up into the engine compartment. Some of you may have seen this before. Just htought I would let you know my experience.

hey man...is there a possibility that your coilovers are upsidedown (or the sleeves at least)...cuz if not i fucked up the installation on my GCs and put mine on the bottom...hmmm....uhhh damn!...i'm worried now and i might just have a reason for blowing the rear shocks in such a short period of time...damn!

Import Hatch: Thanks for the suggestion. It seems like a good idea. I'm probably going to raise it up a bit with a new suspension setup before I do my swap. I'm tired of smashing everything under the car up.
Unfuckingbelievable.

Hmmmm. They seem to fit better this way. Those brass collars fit right into the upper cups and the lower part of the spring rested pefectly on the shock perch so I don't know. Mine did not come with directions. I still think they are right though. I tried to put them the other way and they didn't seem to fit... Oh well this suspension setup is scrap anyway. I'm looking into the Koni yellow/H&R setup.

I don't see how it is wrong. That is the only way it fits on the car.
Edit: Mine are not ground controls.

it takes certain shock to use GC's. you may not have to right thing. takes a certain lower perch ring to support the sleeve.
reagrdless of what you think. that's wrong. sorry.
there was a thread a while ago when someone scanned and posted their GC's install sheet. couldn't find it... anyone?
also how about people with GC's post some pics of what is right.

Haahahaha Now I'm looking at a picture of the springs and mine didn't come with those rings to seat the spring on the top. I used the collar to seat it because the spring set crooked on the factory shock perch. Oh well, they've been on for about a year and a half, hehehehe.
