Default Accord lugging problem ( when warm )

I bought a 1993 Honda Accord around a month ago and it's recently started this "lugging" problem.

I can take the car down the road, get on the freeway and get off my work exit, then at that light itll lug in every gear until I hit 3k then it just seems to stop. ( Definitely not in too high of a gear, I've had 3 people drive it to see if I was crazy. )

So my dad suggested the air filter, which I took out and changed, it seems to be doing it a little less but still happening, which is really irritating because it shouldn't feel like I'm in fifth gear going 30 in second gear.

Anyone got any advice or had this problem in the past? Hopefully not an expensive fix? :\ Thanks.

EGR ports clogged? First thought...all the other stuff up to date-cap-rotor-wire-plugs. Check engine light is not on? "D" or "S" light isn't flashing......

EDIT: How many miles on the car. One more, might or might not help, auto or manual.

EGR Ports? Is that like anything fuel injector related?

Look in the FAQ section for process of cleaning them. You can also search, google or something, for TSB's about the issues. Again, in the sprit of full disclosure, can't say 100% that is the issue......sounds like it. That is why I asked about the other maint stuff, any answers on those. I will add the erg system only "activates" once the car is warm/up tp temp so another reason for thinking this. While cold, does the car give the same issues? Is this only after a long drive in the interstate and then goes away, or once warm it happens all the time.

More info; specifically:

Driving down my road, hit the main road, now I'm about 10 miles from my house. Stop at light. I put it into first and it feels as if I'm about to kill it, then while in first, its stuttering at 2.5k, 2.7k, 2.8k BOOM kicks in and feels smooth and picks up to 3k and I shift, stutters til around 2.8k again. Then after that it will stop and I can feel it a few minutes later a little bit.

I might take it in to get looked at if no one has like a pretty safe bet that its something an amateur car guy could figure out.

Taking it in with an idea of what's very likely wrong with it might save you some money. Even as an amatuer, there's a test you can perform that will help narrow it down to the EGR ports being plugged up with carbon. The test is in the first section (Diagnosis) of this Honda Service Bulletin. You can probably drop by Autozone or somewhere like that get them to loan you what you need to perform the test right on the parking lot. So easy you can almost do it in good clothes. There are a lot of valves in the engine bay but the EGR valve is tucked in there on the left slightly left and reward of the valve cover. It has a hose connected to it and a rubber electrical plug thing that sits on top of it. It's also got two wire clips that hold it together. Hard to miss. The hose is the only part of it you'll need to disconnect for a couple of minutes to perform the two little tests.

I'm 95% sure I found the problem;

Engine & Motor Mounts ( Same thing right? )

I was driving it and one of my co-workers said he would take a look, being an advanced car guy I thought it would be a good idea. Apparently my engine is wobbling and the motor mount(s) is broken. I took a look too and I think I see a crack in the one on the left and the right.

Now my problem is, do I take it to a shop? This sounds pretty complicated, any idea how much this kind of thing would cost?

I don't know much about how bad motor mount(s) act, but I assume they act up all the time if they are busted. Maybe not. If your lugging problem comes and goes it is more likely something else, such as the EGR thing. As for replacing motor mounts I have heard of people using a floor jack to support the engine while changing them. It's a job to find the local kid who puts motors in stuff and get a quote from him. You'll save $ if you can buy the mount(s) yourself and get them installed. A shop will probably try to ream you on the parts cost and the labor.

Any updates on the engine mount replacement?
I think my 90 Accord Coupe is having similar problem of engine lugging at below 2k rpm.
