Default what in the bloody hell!!!??!!

Well, today turned out to be a **** hole of a day.

Some background: I have a b16 rex, and for some reason from 0-2000 rpms, if i get on the gas, the car sputters..

Ok, well i finally get around to pulling my cap and rotor on my distributor, and i see both are burnt. So i go down to autozone, and get some new ones. Put them on. The car feels a little better, but the bogging and sputtering is still there. So I go down and pick up a new 90-91 ls distributor, because i have been told that it works. I take a hacksaw to one of the aluminum legs, and modify it so it will fit. I finally get the **** on, and try to start, and wouldnt you know, the bitch wont start. I try again and a huge pop and fireball fly out the exhaust.

The question:

Anyone know why the ls distr didnt work? Also, i need some new plug wires and plugs. If i ever get this fixed im putting a zex kit in, so who makes colder than stock plugs? And for what engine should i buy the plugs and wires? B16a2?

Thanks

eric

the timing is wrong is the reason for the no start and the flame, most likely the dist is too retarded and is igniting with the exhaust valves starting to open. try putting a timing light on it. and for the sputtering, if the rotor and cap helped, i'd go with some plugs and a fuel filter as well.

Plugs and wires can be bought for a 94+ Dohc VTEC Del Sol or 99 Civic Si. The fuel filter should be bought for your 88 crx Si.

Why would you want colder plugs?

I think the Bosch Platinum +4's run pretty cold....

http://www.zex.com has the plugs you're looking for.
Tell them exactly what you have and they'll send you
what you need.

And let me know what you find out about your distributor.
I have a similar problem. I keep burning up my coil about
every 2 months.
