Car Starts and Stops after replacing Rotor
Adding to my experiences:
Recap:
Bought a 99 dx with b16SirII swap, car does not run and knew it when I bought it.
The engine would just crank, getting fuel, etc..
Tonite, I replaced the distributor rotor (the cap was the wrong one) and the damn thing started up. Much to my surprise. Then it immeadiately shut off after like 5 seconds. If I let the car sit, undo the plug wires, put them back in, the car will start again.
Any ideas? Need a new dizzy? New cap? New Wires? Plugs? or just all of the above?!

how did it run when it started? did you check that all your plugs are firing? check spark first... cheap way to find out what's wrong before dumping money into dizzy

Re: Car Starts and Stops after replacing Rotor (pb16b)
it did not have spark before or very faint. The car would not even start before.
after replacing the dist. rotor, the car actually turns over and runs for about 5 seconds.

It ran fine, its really loud because the intake is out and the exhaust is off. It dies after like 5-10 seconds however. Do you think replacing the spark plugs/wires would be good?

my car did exactly the same thing. My car died on me and I knew it was eletrical so I replaced the distributor cap & rotor and then my car turned over but then shut down. When I replaced the spark plug wires everything was perfect.
