How to tell if Integra Type R seats are real?
p/n?
And would these fit in a 96 hatch with out any other pieces needed?
And correct me if I'm wrong, aren't the only Recaro Type R seats in Japan/Canada etc?

fakes, they dont have the recaro logo on the seat, and a used set in good condition goes for around 800-1200$ usually without sliders/rails/brackets.
a real set :
a real set :
Part number.
It looks like there aren't any rails or sliders.
Well, you right and wrong. Recaro did make the USDM ITR seats, just not the SRD style. The SRD style was only available in Japan/Canada/etc.

This guy lives about an hour away from me. I'd hate to waste a trip if they're fake.. It's hard to tell much of anything about the material from the pics, and he says he "doesn't have" the part number.
Also, they don't look like any USDM seats that I've found online so far..

I thought Type-R were recaros. and they said recaro on them. I think what the guy is selling you is ebay type r style seats.

Yeah it's not a big deal but, I don't "need" seats; I just wouldn't mind having new seats. If I'm going to spend money on them, I'd like them to not be replicas.

OP, here's how you can tell if they're real:
- The seat belt inserts (in the headrest, where the harness go through) are plastic and coated in a felt materal. They feel amost soft and furry.
- "Recaro" is stampled on the adjustment ****. The **** itself is hard plastic and rubberized on the edges for grip.
- The outer portion of the seat is a suede material, the center portion is a fabric mesh.
- When sit in them, they feel firm and sturdy like OEM seats. On fake seats, the back part of the seat flexes and feels like it could snap. This is due to the cheap reclining mechanism in the fake seats.
As someone who's owned several type of seats (OEM S2000, Buddy Club bucket seats, fake ITR seats, and now real JDM ITR seats) I can personally say that you get what you pay for. The fake seats feel flimsy and the side bolster wear out QUICK. Would drive around and the seats would bounce front to back due to the cheap reclining system. Just sitting in them, I could feel the seat back flex like it wanted to give.
Stay away from the fake seats....

people these days seem to forget that seats serve more than the purpose of being cool looking.
theyre safety devices as well, and theyre supposed to be DOT approved for your safety and others.
Definitely fake. Skip over these type R style things and get the real things. ITR seats arent hard to come by and you can usually find them for 8-900 dollars.
