I have traffic court tomorrow. Completely forgot about it. The court time is 9 am and the MVA opens at 8:30. I don't think I'll have time to get my record pulled there before court without being late, which I am definitely NOT going to be late haha.

Can anyone provide insight? I have 2 tickets in the past 3 years...1 was in Virginia, and 1 is three years ago in Ocean City. I don't want to lie to the judge since he will have my record right there, but also don't want to tell him more than he needs to know if the VA one isn't going to show up or if the OC one has dropped off by now.

I live in Maryland.

Haha is Jon D even on this site anymore? I just started posting here again. I managed to get pulled over doing 53 in a 30 in a Rav 4 lol. It was BS though. I was merging off the beltway onto a main road and the cop was sitting about a 1/8th mile up the street. I wasn't even looking at my Speedo b/c I was looking in my mirrors to merge. O well.

So being the following day, what was the verdict?

 

I got off! It was an older lady (judge). She came out all smiling saying hi to everyone haha....I knew I was good to go. Just had to pay $75 in ticket/court fees, but no points, etc.

Jon, quick question for you on V1. Have you noticed that there're some kind of laser/radar gun they are using that the V1 won't pick up?

In more than one occasion, I saw the cop sitting on the shoulder pointing the laser/radar gun at cars (including me) and the V1 didn't even make a sound. I actually got one for going 42 in a 35, and the V1 didn't beep. wtf......

 

Wai, i've had similar experiences. Troopers are now equipped with some sort of device that they look through sort of like binoculars. It is some form of laser though. What i can tell you is that if it is not directly being pointed at you, the V1 will not pick it up. This happened to us on teh way to E10. There were 3 of us in the front of the pack all V1 equipped. Only one of us detected the frequency. It must have a very very small range in which it produces a frequency. You must be very careful once you've passed Troopers using this in their vehicles. I've only found this being used in Mass, Jersey and Ohio within the past 3 years. The only good thing i can think of with regard to this new piece of equipment being used is that if it has to be pointed directly at you to receive a signal, your ability to avoid or hide from radar is betterwhile in heavier traffic. This is another reason i don't particullary like to lead the pack when travelling.

I'm going to send an email to V1 R&D and inquire more about this. I'll be sure to post the email response if i get one. They are typically very prompt with getting back to you though.
