My intro + My car Pics =)
Hey guys, ryan from northern california. I Thought i would take the time to introduce myself and my car. I am a honda freak. I have only owned 3 but i've been through alot with them. I used to be into supras (i've owned 9) And my buddy gave me a ride in his 2000 SI that was turbo'd and since then, i have been hooked. *plus i love vtec* mmmmmmmmBAAAAHHHHHH!!!!
Engine:
-JDM D15B VTEC (the 130hp rated)
-AEM fuel rail
-AEM fuel pressure regulator
-AEM Tru Time adjustable Cam Gear
-AEM lightweight pulley set for ALT/PS
-Lightweight Underdrive pulley
-Exedy 6puck 350HP rated clutch
-Exedy lightweight Flywheel
-Steeltube header
-Integra Throttlebody
Susp:
-New Konig wheels 14" (dont know exact name, got them for INSANELY cheap)
-Poly Urathene bushings
-Adjustable coilovers (that actually dont suck)
-SI swaybars
theres probably a bunch of other **** im forgetting, but owell.
heres some pics of my asian goddess. It aint the cleanest in the world but it's one mean SOHC. (schooling LS swapped hatches)

The door, half way between the handle, and the trim, Was pretty messed up, But was savable. Car was clipped.

A little bit of welding and i fixed this looking good, all on my own. the outside edge was crinkled back like opening an old can, managed to straighten it out, throw in some other sheet metal and bring her back to live, Was about 4 inches vertical, and about a foot long (from front of car to back of car) of damage

Turned out pretty nice.. needs a wash though

Some of you were disgusted with the older pics of the motor. so i dressed her up painted the headers, pressure washed it, etc... as it sits:

Now assembling B series stuff, b20 halted.
I bought another civic same year, a 4 door that needs some work, then ill come back to the coupe.. but the coupe is getting a nice suprise before b swap.. stay tuned.

clean ride
but you've got to do something about that bay. pick up some purple power (its the best imo) or simple green spray, it everywhere then blast it with water. the bay will look years newer.
ps make sure you cover up the dizzy & air filter so they dont get wet!!

I'm not sure where to start.
I really hope you didn't spend $500-$1000 making your stock civic marginally faster.
Half the "engine parts" you named are useless and that money would be better spend elsewhere.
The "LS swapped hatches" you're beating must have LS transmissions and 2 fat girls along with full recording studios to document you owning them on local highways.
You've got a lot to learn. I can only hope you realize sooner rather than later how much of a waste of time, money, and energy a SOHC is unless you're boosting it.

Actually i bought the car with everything on it, for 1,200. and in my opinion thats a 1,200 well spent. i agree with the "engine parts statement" im not as stupid as i seem. every motor has potential, doesn't matter what motor it is, its a matter of how hard it is to acheive that potential. and an SOHC is pretty dificult to squeeze any #s out, without a turbo.
And trust me, if i had money, i would put a B series in QUICK. probably a b16.
BUT it might end up being a B20 as i can get a b20 with everything for 400$

Good. I'm glad it wasn't you wasting your money on those parts. If you can get a b20 go for it. Great daily driving motor for sure. Lots of bottom end.
Lol yeah 1200 money well spent...
That has to be the most backwards start to an engine build I've ever seen though for whoever had it prior.
Good stuff though. I'm looking at a b20 myself.

the guy i bought it from was helping me out so he sold it to me for very cheap.
I was highly considering b20. its affordable, the only thing i need is a tranny/clutch/pressure plate/flywheel. i got the mounts and other stuff. id like to have a bit more low end torque. (cuz right now theres no such thing) I have a b16 head too, so i could slap that on the 20 block.

the reason all the stuff on it is because he had a turbo on the motor before i had the car, when i bought it he took the turbo off and all the stuff that belonged to it, he left fuel rail and other things, there used to be RCs on it as well, and a walbro pump. i bought the header for 20$ and had that intake tube in scrap pile.

keep it clean and your in business
If you want visuals on different parts on that car let me know...I have a few things I have changed over the years for ideas to help ya out.

Have you seen the FAQ on polishing headers? I don't know if that's really a priority to you but if you have some spare time it might be worthwhile to you.
and i will definately spend some time on engine bay on like friday... gettin paid! what chemical do you suggest? never really had a car this dirty under the hood..
It's your car and whatnot...IMHO if you're gonna take time to sand the rust off and whatnot go ahead and polish it...it'll really make the bay stand out more than black.
