Icon7 Muckman's 500hp Integra Hytech GT30R

This thread is long overdue. We dyno tuned my car back in July '10 but I wanted to get track numbers before posting. However I did not make it to the track before the end of the season. First the setup:

2000 Integra GSR
Built 2.0L B18C1
Custom Hytech manifold
Custom GT30R
E85, ID1000 injectors
Demon/Neptune

This is on the wastegate spring 10psi

We used a MBC to increase boost to 22si which tapered to 19psi at redline.

Here we have 25psi taping to 22psi at redline.

We stopped at 25psi peak bc it wasn't holding anymore boost at redline. We let it cool down for a minute and did one more run at 25psi which generated 505whp SAE corrected but the dyno software crashed before it could be saved.

Tuned by BaldTurboFreak on his Land & Sea Dynomite which generally reads 10-15% lower than local Dynapacks. The weather was horrible - 85*, 100% humdity fog with 96.3kpa as the ambient pressure. Plus the dyno fan was broken and the car was getting heat soaked. We were picking up 25hp after cool downs.

I was hoping to get the EBC working so I could run boost by gear and hold peak boost to readline but was unable to complete that before the end of the season. Over the winter I will get the EBC working plus I want to upgrade to bigger injectors.

Diggin' the setup. Let me know if you need any help with the EBC when it comes time.

I love these sexy *** manifolds, function AND form. Allows you to run A/C & P/S with ease. However, I've heard of the stories of high under hood temps with their particular design, but I've never owned one, so I don't have any real experience. Were your ECT's tolerable during tuning and in normal driving conditions even with the ceramic coating?

what's custom about your gt30r? I see you have a full size radiator. Do you still have AC with that manifold?

2.0L gt30 integra's ftw

Here are some videos from the dyno day.

This was at only 10psi. Yes it is raining. Note the amber of ceramic burning off my manifold at the end (view in HD).

ECTs yes, EBTs no. (Engine Bay Temps) I have a custom dual pass radiator with two 12" pusher fans. I was really impressed with the performance of my radiator's ability to keep ECTs under 195*F despite no air movement and back to back runs.

My Engine Bay temps have always been an issue with this manifold. It's thin walled and has alot of surface area. Years ago I fried the coil in the stock distributor twice because the EBTs were so hot (300*F)! That’s why I run the MSD Pro Billet distributor now because I can mount the external coil away from the heat. Plus I vented the OEM hood that you can see in the first picture of my car. My EBTs are down to 220*F now which seems to be tolerable but still much higher than a log manifold which I’ve tested at 100*F EBT.

The ceramic coating really didn’t do that much in terms of EBT. It lowered EBT by ~20*F. I got it mostly for aesthetics because I hate the look of a heat discolored manifold.

*I have a temp probe in my engine bay placed between the distributor and manifold that you can see in the 4th picture of my car.

It's a GT3076R-13 which is rare. The compressor wheel is 60 trim vs. the 56 trim on the standard -12. Garrett doesn't offer an S cover with Anti-surge for the GT30 (Only the E comes with AS) so I had Kinetic Motorsports make me one in .70AR. Its rated at 60lbs/min and my goal is to make 600hp on a GT30R.

AC fits but it’s currently not hooked up. I’m going to make some custom lines that route out of sight.

Thanks for helping me choose a GT3076 Sp00led

clean, effective setup! on that 10psi pull video it sounds really good when it hits VTEC ramps up pretty fast for just 320whp.

So you're using the GT3082R or 3040R with an S cover. Nice! I remember back in 2005 when I was researching turbos I came across Mike01gsr's video of his silver integra. That video was motivation for me to go the gt30 route and he was using the larger gt30 if I'm not mistaken.

I'd like to have PWR make me a custom radiator that is larger than a civic radiator but not quite full size to clear my wastegate. This will require custom AC lines as the low pressure valve and piping would be in the way of larger SPAL fans.

How did you plan on making custom AC lines? I've seen aluminum hard line for sale on summitt/jegs and I've thought about getting a bender. I would have to get someone to weld in fittings for me. Not sure how well all that would work. Just curious if that was the route you were going.

I've got to get my ECT's down if I ever want to get my car on a track in the summer for some HPDEs.

Do you have any concerns with running E85 and summer/winter blends which I hear have different ethanol levels? We have two pumps in town and I'm not sure if that would be a problem or not. Been thinking about a e85 tune.

Otherwise great setup. Looking forward to seeing the videos when I get home. Stupid websence is blocking them at work.

No! lol Im using a GT3076R-13 with an S cover. The -13 is a larger trim 76mm compressor wheel. In my opinion the 3082 aka 3040 is a retarded mismatched turbo (no offense Mike01GSR).

Here's my cheat sheet:

The 3076-13 has a larger compressor exducer than the 3076-12. The 3082 has the GT35 compressor mated to a GT30 turbine.

Any major radiator company will charge you alot for anything custom if they offer it at all. You're better off buying a core and making your own.

Aeroquip sells R134a rated braided hose and service ports.

Yes but I don't drive this car in the winter. However I checked with my gas station and they do not change ethanol blends anyways. If they did then I'd need two tunes, which would suck.
