Default Does anybody know if a OBDII to OBDI conversion harness can be interchanged between 99 Gsr and 01 IT

I have a P28 and the OBDII to OBDI conversion harness but I don't know if the harnesses vary from 99 to 01. I tried the harness in my brother's 99 Gsr and it didn't work, so I was wondering if it might be for my car. The guy that I bought it from said it was OBD2b to OBD1 for 99+ so I thought it would work in my brother's 99 gsr. What is OBD2b anyways? Thanks.

There are two versions of OBDII... A & B. Thats probably your problem.

Don't know the exact differences, other then they only share 2 of the 3 plugs for the ECU. The third goes into two different slots.

Yes...Honda/Acura changed their ECU connections for the model year 2000 and beyond. So a 1999 ecu will not work on a 2000 car.

Correction.

00-01 integra and 99-00 si use the same harness.
its called a 99 adapter because the civic switched first.

sgt is right.

However, not all companies/individuals wire up their '99-'00 Civic/'00-'01 Integra OBD2 to OBD1 harnesses up for both the Civic and Integra. There is a slight difference between the two.

My harnesses are wired to work in both the '99-'00 Civic and the '00-'01 Integra without any modification.

Yup. My harnesses as well are wired for universal applications.

Check Hondata's website...they show what the 96-98 harness' look like and the 99-00...they use a civic as a base.
