Default ECU Pinout

My father in law has a 91 accord that had the A4 swap to the A6 and it is having trouble turning on. Here is what happens. You turn the key to ON position and the CEL comes on faintly and then fads away. The Fuel Pump turns on then turns off. I try to go to ON position again and this time nothing happens. So what im guessing is the ECU isnt getting enough power or ground. So im looking for a pinout diagram of 91 accord so I can find out if the power and grounds are hooked up correctly. Thanks

Also remember, that the A6 has a more aggressive cam. Unless you use the correct ECU the basemap will be off. Resulting in ***-like running.

Test your battery before anything else. Make sure there is power to go to the ECU, and look for plugs/wires you may have left diconnected or connected incorrectly. Such things happen frequently during major engine work. Details get lost in the big picture.

Check the ground on the back of the thermostat housing.

I didnt work on it he did. The battery is good tho. I can reset the ecu and the CEL will do the same. I will check the ground 2. So you cant use the A4 ecu for the A6. It did run one time when I fiddled with it and then he tried to take the battery out while the car was running and then it turned off and never started again. He just wants to get it running to sell it.

I checked the housing and there is no ground. Just a green connector. O and also keep in mind they are using the A4 harness on the A6 motor. Here is a pic of the ground ive been trying to look for I just cant find an actual pic of it.

on the cb7 accord harness it is on the thermostat housing, on the newer accords, like 94-97 its on the drivers side of the intake manifold, not sure if that will help u, but its gotta be there someplace its just a matter of tracing out the harness to find it.......

The car should still crank over without that hooked up, it just wont fire.....So im kinda thinking thats not ur problem, but Good Luck

run a wire from the battery and ground it to the frame.....i suspect when the swap was done you may not have properly regrounded everything...if this fixes it check your body ground and make sure you make a couple solid ones if needed

I don't think it would even crank over.

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere.
