My car made 309 last year and I consistently trap between 114-115

mph. Well last Friday night I ran a 12.42 @ 113. Not too bad for

street tires and all but I have a few questions. I trap from 90-93

in the 1/8th and when I compare my time slips to others that trap

the same as me in the 1/8 they 9 times out of 10 trap 118-120 in

the 1/4. Am I missing something? Does my car just leave really

well or does it run out of breath on the big end?

 

what rpm/gear do you finish the 1/4 in?

also, whats the car weigh?

 

How does your dyno graph look, does power drop off top end?

 

My car weighs 2420 with me in it. It made peak power at 7300 and didn't drop off much. I

cross the finish line around 7800 rpm. I have a GSR trans on the car with 24" drag radials. I

picked those tires because I would run out of gear with anything shorter. Here is a

breakdown of the slip.

The car also runs the same thing and has dipped down to 12.0-2's on higher temperature

days.

 

7300 is a pretty early sign-off for a vtec setup tony, a stock gsr makes peak power at like 7800-8k, and you have gsr cams right? looks like it should be making more power up top than it does. matt should fix that. haha

 

LOL. I would need a re-tune and that cost money. And yes I have 98 GSR cams in it. I have seen similar setups that make peak

power around that rpm. The strange thing is it doesn't feel like it's falling off up top except in fourth gear. I guess the other gears are

so short that it's not as apparent as in a higher/longer gear. Either way I would like to get a bigger map sensor and injectors for a

re-tune.

 

Any ideas?
