Icon2 NEED HELP, Prelude transmission housing feel stuck

its my first time opening up a honda prelude transmission, it's from a 99 honda prelude. the reverse didn't work so i open it up to see what wrong with it, don't know anything about transmission but then i try just to put the housing back on and seem like it's stuck or something, it had like a small finger gap between housing and case, even if i try lightly taping it with rubber hammer it just wont go in. please help

also do anyone know anythings about what wrong with the reverse not going in, when i putting it in reverse and letting go of clutch, it only grind, i try going it into first and then reverse really fast but still nothing, i try pushing car back and forth then in reverse, but still nothing, it only grind, does anyone have any idea what is wrong and what i need to replace

all gear shift perfect no grind at all. only reverse grind, but i did happen to miss shift on third gear on freeway while doing a high end race with a M3.
does anyone have any idea what is wrong and what i need to replace

the reverse was out, it wouldn't go into reverse and it only grind, but all gear work fine, no grind or nothing on all gear except for reverse.

If it wont go back together, either your countershaft snap ring hasnt seated properly, or your shift fork rod(s) arent going onto their holes. To seat the countershaft, first make sure the snap ring is spread open. Flip the transmission upside down and lightly bounce it on the outer casing. That should cause the countershaft to drop and the snap ring to seat in it's groove on the bearing. If it's the shifter rods, you'll need to wiggle the shifter arms around while trying to seat the casing down

getting the countershaft in the snap ring is easier to just use a pry bar to push up on the 4th gear through the shifter box.
