I might be throwing on some JDM doors on my 91 Si but then I lose my seatbelts because on the USDM doors they are on the doors. I heard the 88-89 USDM CRX's have the seatbelts mounted on the pillar instead of the door. Could I put 88-89 seatbelts on my 91? Where does it mount?

 

88's are the only year that didn't have the seatbelts in the doors. The 89-91's did have them in the doors. In fact, I don't think any other place manufactured the seat belts in the doors other than usdm. Maybe so in Europe or Japan but off the top of my head, I cant think of any RH drive crx's/civic with door mounted seatbelts. I would think that the pre drilled holes are still on the rear quarter just behind the door. You should compare your car with an 88 EF and see what the dilly is.

 

My 89 does not have them on the doors.

 

All 88's have them on the pillar. Only the 89 HF has them on the pillar. All other 89-91 have them in the doors.

 

My 89 Si doesn't, but it is Canadian... Maybe that's it. I'm pretty sure that it's only 90-91 here...

 

Of the 4 years-only the 88 had them mounted on the pillar-the 89+ are door mounted. There is also an issue with door size according to some people. Check with a local salvager about doing this as they do have a cross reference.

 

it depends on the month aswell, some 89's came with them on the pillar, I think it was those before june

 

on my 89, i have door mount seatbelts, however, i don't have all the fittings in the pillar to put in pillar mount seatbelts--upper mounting point is there, but not threaded. harnesses will solve all issues.
