Default good bye cylinder 3

was having some fun rolling some 3rd gear burnouts on street tires when i unleashed the spy hunter white smoke cloud. i guessed it was just the head gasket oh boy was i wrong, my koyo radiator looks like a puffer fish lol. and this

i have another block but its a 82mm 11.1cr with stock sleeves not going to chance that maybe send this block out to be re sleeved

i cracked cylinder 4 on 11psi....will never run stock sleeves on 93 octane..i ran car hard for 6 months the one day i gas up in a different station than usual and boom the next day...also car felt weird and back fire going to 4th after i re fueled...so cant blame my tuner...go with 11.1 block but use e85..

yea the fuel out here is garbage and theirs no way of getting e85 maybe high compression low boost just need to run race gas all the time.

60-1 11 psi street tune very conservative to avoid the above...im guessing 270-300...engine was a stock 250k mile gsr long block...the last thing i expected to go was the sleeves..i was faster by a few cars than my friends 13.2 second turbo d16 on eg...so im guessing i was doing mid to high 12s...never made it to the track befor it blew..

****, I don't like hearing that. I have crappy California 91 octane. At least I picked up the Silver Surfer to cope with the gas I'll be getting

250k is alot on a turbo'd stock block, maybe you could swap pistons on the other block to something with a lower CR, or get your block resleeved and you should be good to go

those pistons look to high to run on 93 octane gas...

No, those are 2 different turbos. This one is more similiar to a s256, but it incorporates BW & Garret products. It's made by TheShodan on this board. I lived out in Pahoa & never saw anyone with a fixed up Honda on the big island

????

Thats where a competent tuner comes into play. you can boost high comp, if the tuner knows what he's doing. we made 470whp on a 11:1 motor on 92 octane.

yeah you can make that but at that compression on 92 there is no room for any detonation. So get a bad patch of gas and your f'ed. The # 3 cylinder in this pick is from the tune and not cause of stock sleeves. Any pump gas is 93 or below is so unpredictable.

from the tune? the tops of the pistons are still nice and smooth and the pistons were 9:8:1 in the picture. Sometimes **** just breaks and **** broke rolling a third gear burnout id say it was a good way to go lol

but i do agree the gas out here is ****

i blew a much bigger hole than that in a #3 stock sleeve making less than 400hp (boost creep is a biotch).

since then ive run sleeved blocks and had a few incidents that most defiately would have toasted stock sleeves, but i wound up with just blown headgaskets instead.
