so im running a B16 in my 91 SI hatchback and it will not engage VTEC...i am OBD-0 with a PR3 ecu...the CEL is always on as far as the dash goes but the ECU is not showing any DTC's....it was throwing a VSS code but once the cluster was replaced it went away???? ive had nothing but problems with this damn swap can someone help!!!

 

check your oil, if its low vtec wont work. check over the wiring

 

Well, how do you know its not engaging? Is this a new problem? Did you buy the car swapped and it never worked?

 

oils good and vtec is wired right....and yes i bought the car with the swap but it was converted to OBD1 n it ran like **** so i went back to OBD0 n im running a PR3 i also have a SIR ecu from my year but either way no vtec

 

you have to have both 02 sensors wired for obd0 b series vtec to work doesnt anyone know that? and also make sure your pressure switch is grounded

 

and im not sure about obd0 but some cars wont engage vtec with the cel on

 

just chip the pr3 ecu eliminates secondary o2 knock sensor and boom vtec popping little sh** stopping!!! are you sure your solenoid aint fryed???

 

confirm your knock sensors are hooked up or "bypassed" correctly

 

dose your speedO work cause if not the vtec want kick in..
