my car is a 99 honda civic ex my dim lights don't work no more because my bro checked the fuses while it was still working he checked it and forgot which one is which and when i went to work i turned on the lights the smoke came out of the vent on the lefts side of the cluster i don't know how to fix it but help me

 

Why was he checking fuses, if it was working? I don't understand that. What was the purpose of him checking fuses? If there was something else not working, what was it? This may help us figure out what you fried, and we need to figure out WHY we fried it in the first place, before we replace it.
